Beach Umbrella Installation Tips

The sun's rays can be very damaging and harmful to the skin. This brings about the need of sunscreens and umbrellas to protect oneself from the sun. When going out to the beach, it is essential to bring along a beach umbrella to ensure that those harmful sun rays are kept way from your skin. In addition to the protection from the harmful sun rays, beach umbrella can be used to provide a shade that will allow enjoy yourself longer. To enjoy these benefits you must first install your beach umbrella. Here we look at how to correctly install a beach umbrella.

  • Firstly, find a good spot where you will want to install the umbrella. Sometimes, it can be a little challenging to find the perfect spot to install your umbrella especially if taking to public beaches that are usually crowded. When you get a good enough spot, ensure that there is enough room between your spot and the people around you.
  • Then, make a hole into the sand just enough to insert the pole holding the umbrella. You can use a shovel to do this. Then get some water and pour it into the hole. Next, get your beach umbrella and push the pole deeper into the sand exceeding the height of the hole you created. This will ensure that your umbrella gets enough support. Then, re-fill the hole with sand and pat it firmly to hold the pole. If you are strong enough, you can drive the umbrella pole directly into the sand without necessarily creating a hole first.
  • Test your beach umbrellas sturdiness by pulling and pushing on its canopy to see how firm the umbrella holds onto the ground. Under the shade provided, lay your beach chairs and towels as you desire.
  • As the sun moves, readjust your chairs and towels to be under the shade as you enjoy yourself at the beach. It is easier to tilt the canopy of the beach umbrella then to adjust the towels and chairs to get the shade or to reposition your beach umbrella.
  • When you get enough of the beach recollect your chairs and towels, pull out the umbrella and collapse it.

To get the most out of a beach umbrella, look for and purchase umbrellas made using materials that are sun resistant. Sun-resistant beach umbrellas can be used even by those with conditions that require them to stay clear of the sun like those with skin cancer.
